Vision & Platform

1

VISION: To build strong, vibrant, and viable communities.

Platform;

Secure a full seat at MTO's decision making level as we have at Frontenac County, to secure the essential service of the ferry.
Renew and share Emergency Planning preparedness in response to climate change impacting water levels as well as severe weather events.
"We are stronger together"

Renew our local Democracy

Renew local democracy, transparency and accountability through holding open and well advertised Town Hall style meetings along with the opportunity for web related consultation, survey and information sharing, in regards to significant issues of interest to the communities ie.) any proposed water and waste water related projects or ferry services, etc..., along with regular update letters From the Mayor's Desk of both decisions and opportunities to provide input BEFORE decisions are made.

Review All By-laws

Establish a new Governance with community representation to review all existing by-laws and assess for sunset clauses and amendments needed with a view to rescinding those that have never been enforced or only selectively enforced.

Support job creation in agriculture, energy, tourism and other opportunities through a new Strategic Plan

Help develop jobs and community resources that will work to ensure that our communities remain vibrant and viable as we are few in numbers but large in agriculture and tourism/cultural niches in addition to being a great place to live and raise your family or settle into retirement.

Highlight our large and small scale, sustainable and established agriculture production and our proximity to 200,000 people in the Kingston area. As well as our unique Island tourism, crafts, culture and entertainment. Work to re-establish the international ferry between Wolfe Island an New York State. Ensure that we are supported at local, provincial and international levels for becoming a place to visit or relocate to live or come to farm in.
