Court quashes Township communications bylaw (Ontario Superior Court of Justice)
Representing herself, Mayor Greenwood-Speers successfully challenged a Township bylaw that required her — but not other councillors — to route all media communications through the CAO. Justice Kaufman found the bylaw improperly restricted her statutory role as the municipality's representative, quashed it, and awarded her $3,000 in costs.
